I am a ripple creator and a tide raiser, working in the space of my "ikigai" by transforming systems in workplaces and communities to include all disabled people. Ikigai is the intersection of four elements: 1) what I love, 2) what I'm good at, 3) what the world needs, and 4) what I can be paid for. My current role as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Disability Inclusion Officer, and President of Relay Resources encompasses my ikigai. I am a transformational social enterprise executive, board member, disability inclusion expert, leadership and team development coach, and award-winning filmmaker. With over 30 years of leadership experience across corporate business, higher education, social enterprises, and nonprofits, I am passionate about creating a world of belonging, where disability inclusion is humanized in workplaces, educational institutions, and communities so that disabled people can lead more inclusive, fulfilling, and independent lives. My current board service includes: Secretary of the Board of Trustees for United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) National, board member for American Congress of Community Supports and Employment Services (ACCSES), governor-appointed member and Vice-Chair of the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities (OCDD), board executive committee member for UCP Oregon, Global Council Trustee for the Asian Hall of Fame, and trustee for the board of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation. I produced an award-winning independent documentary and several videos that challenge stereotypes and promote inclusion of people with disabilities. I am a recipient of multiple honors, including the League of Minority Voters Oregon Liberty & Hope Award (2026), Portland Business Journal Executive of the Year award (2026), the Filipina Women's Network Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World™ award (2022), the Top 25 Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Change Makers of the greater Sacramento region (2022), and the Jefferson Award for Public Service of the San Francisco Bay Area (2018). I have a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organization and Leadership and an MBA from the University of San Francisco, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I am also a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, a Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner, and a Certified Diversity Executive.

I am passionate about creating a world of belonging, where disability inclusion is humanized in workplaces, educational institutions, and communities so that disabled people can lead more inclusive, fulfilling, and independent lives.

Transforming workplace architecture, policies, and practices so that disabled people increase their participation and engagement in the workforce, is quite simply, innovation. Leveraging universal design to create live-learn-work-play communities that are accessible and inclusive of disabled people is innovation in its highest form.

I attended my first TEDx event last April - TEDxPortland - where the organization I lead, Relay Resources, was the accessibility sponsor. We provided a variety of accessibility features such as American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART), sensory tents and sensory bags, assistive listening devices, and on-site, personalized support, so that disabled people could attend and feel like they belonged. One of the speakers talked about disability inclusion, so it was fitting to have Relay Resources present to demonstrate in real time what the speaker was presenting. I was amazed at the energy, ideas, and relevance of each of the topics the speakers talked about. This experience compelled me to look into the programming that TED offers and become a more involved part of the community.
