Bio
Name: Dr. Hania Mahassen
Title: Associate Professor of Mathematics
I graduated with a degree in Physics from the University of Waterloo, Canada. My academic journey continued with a Master's and PhD in Applied Math and Plasma Physics from the University of Vermont. My research journey has been fueled by a passion for theoretical physics, focusing on the fundamental dynamical properties of strongly coupled multicomponent plasmas. I've been honored to receive grants from NASA and NSF, allowing me to explore the intricacies of plasma shock dynamics and strong-coupling dynamics in both classical and quantum Coulomb systems. Currently, my work delves into the theory of relativistic electron beam interactions with plasma.
I'm passionate about
Driven by a thirst for knowledge, I am actively engaged in improving myself in the dynamic field of AI. I'm currently familiarizing myself with the basics of data science and undertaking online courses to enhance my skills in this evolving domain.
Beyond the academic realm, I find joy in my family life with my five children. I cherish moments spent with them and hold a deep love for my family. In my personal time, I indulge in the serenity of canoeing, express myself through playing the piano, and maintain a holistic well-being through yoga.
Areas of expertise
Dynamic behaviors of complex plasmas, Strongly interacting condensed matter, Theoretical physics and applied mathematics
