I have been teaching for 15 years (first in the USA and then abroad). During that time, I worked as a general education classroom teacher, Migrant Student Advocate, and Special Education teacher. Now, I am working as an Learning Support teacher at an international school in Romania.

Inspiring young people to be the best versions of themselves.

A Ted speaker, Rita Pierson, said this, and it has stuck with me ever since: “Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”

My journey began with a profound responsibility that shaped much of my early life. At the age of 11, my world shifted when my mother's autoimmune disease worsened. Suddenly, I found myself taking on the role of caregiver with my father and shouldering responsibilities far beyond my years. Through countless hospital visits and challenging moments, I became her steadfast advocate, offering support, love, and care until she passed away. Amidst these responsibilities, I navigated life as a biracial individual, straddling two worlds, each with its unique experiences and perspectives. Embracing my multicultural heritage was a journey in itself and led me to the life of an international educator.
