About Laura

I am a…

Business adviser, Change Agent, Designer, Engineer, Project manager, Writer/Editor

Bio

Laura is part of the fourth generation of engineers in her family but she decided to do it in a different way. Interested in entrepreneurship, service design and human behavior, she uses her knowledge to design simple, shared management strategies and processes, seeking to unlock potential, to help people answer their questions and to make things happen for them. With a degree in Production Engineering from UFRGS, she has worked in companies of different sizes (including startups and consulting firms) in automotive, service, financial, education and technology market. She was a partner at Altos Eventos where she developed experience designing projects for clients such as Natura, Nubank and ThoughtWorks. She’s done a Neuroscience and Behavior post-graduation and has studied Creative Writing. She loves to take short courses, such as Semiotics or Biomimetics, and she invents possible occupations for herself: project orchestrator, bond builder, explorer of new methodologies, concept developer or idea disseminator. She is a co-founder of the social project Amor no Cabide (clothing donation), a partner at UXConf BR (the biggest brazilian UX conference) and a mentor at Spotlight Network (women protagonism).

I'm passionate about

Laura is Flora and Martim's aunt and Barbara's godmother. She loves to read (especially Portuguese authors) and has learned that writing is a great way to express herself, having already published two poems in a brazilian anthology. She also knows that she feels very good when she's into the nature and she likes to try different sports and outdoor adventures like mountain biking and trekking - she's climbed two volcanoes! She welcomes any trip, any sea or waterfall bath and any conversation about any new idea that may have arised. She loves to cook and eat great food - if it's all among friends, even better.

An idea worth spreading

Semiotics as a lifestyle: the practice of perception and observation, and only then attributing meaning and taking action.

Areas of expertise
