I am Bamigboye Mathias Inioluwa, a Meteorology student at the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, Nigeria, with a passion for aviation, aerospace, climate and environmental sustainability, education, youth leadership, innovation, and the power of ideas to create meaningful change. My academic journey in Meteorology has given me a deeper understanding of the atmosphere, climate, weather, and the environmental challenges shaping our world. Studying at an institution focused on aviation and aerospace has also strengthened my interest in the intersection of science, technology, sustainability, and the future of human mobility. Beyond academics, I am passionate about creating opportunities for young people to learn, lead, and make an impact. I am the Founder of EcoRise Youth Initiative, a youth-led initiative focused on climate education and environmental awareness. Through school outreach activities, I have worked to engage young people in conversations about climate change, sustainability, and their role in building a better future. I currently serve as a World Literacy Foundation Youth Ambassador and a Commonwealth Students Association Campus Ambassador, where I continue to support youth development, education, advocacy, and community engagement. I also have experience in communications, photography, graphic design, web development, public speaking, social media, and event coordination. These experiences have taught me that great ideas need more than a good message, they need people who can communicate them effectively, build communities around them, and turn them into action. Leadership and community building have been important parts of my journey. I have taken on leadership and organizational responsibilities in student, youth, educational, and community initiatives, and I enjoy bringing people together around a shared vision. I believe some of the world's most transformative ideas begin when people are given the opportunity to question what exists, imagine what could exist, and inspire others to see possibilities differently. This belief is one of the reasons I am passionate about organizing TEDxAAAU. I see TEDx as more than an event. I see it as a platform for discovering and amplifying ideas worth spreading. Bringing TEDx to the African Aviation and Aerospace University presents an opportunity to create a platform where students, researchers, professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and changemakers can share ideas that extend beyond the university and contribute to conversations about Africa's future. As part of the team establishing TEDxAAAU, my vision is to create an event that is intellectually meaningful, professionally executed, inclusive, and transformative. I want TEDxAAAU to encourage people to challenge assumptions, connect different disciplines, explore new possibilities, and leave with ideas that continue to influence them long after the event. I am particularly interested in ideas around aviation and aerospace, climate and sustainability, emerging technologies, education, leadership, entrepreneurship, human potential, and Africa's role in shaping the future. At the same time, I believe that some of the most powerful ideas can come from unexpected places, which is why I value diversity of thought and interdisciplinary perspectives. For me, TEDxAAAU is not simply about hosting an event. It is about building a platform and creating a legacy for our university community. I want students to look back and remember TEDxAAAU as a moment when their ideas were valued, new perspectives were welcomed, and possibilities seemed larger than they had imagined. I hope to bring my experience in leadership, youth engagement, communications, media, climate advocacy, and community development to building a strong organizing team and delivering an event that reflects the spirit of TEDx and the vision of AAAU. I believe the future belongs to those who are willing to imagine what does not yet exist and give others the courage to imagine it too. TEDxAAAU is an opportunity to do exactly that to bring people together, give remarkable ideas a platform, and inspire our community to look beyond what is possible today.

I am passionate about people, ideas, and the possibilities that emerge when people are given the opportunity to think beyond what already exists. I am passionate about aviation and aerospace because they represent humanity's desire to explore, innovate, and go beyond the limits we once considered impossible. As a Meteorology student at the African Aviation and Aerospace University, I am particularly interested in how science, technology, climate, and aviation intersect to shape the future. I am passionate about young people and their potential. I believe young people should not simply be viewed as beneficiaries of opportunities, but as creators, innovators, leaders, and problem solvers. Through my work with youth initiatives and education focused organizations, I have seen how exposure to the right idea, person, or opportunity can completely change the way a young person sees their future. I am passionate about education and access to knowledge because I believe knowledge becomes most powerful when it is shared. This is one reason I have pursued opportunities that allow me to contribute to youth education, literacy, and development. I am also deeply passionate about climate action and environmental sustainability. Through EcoRise Youth Initiative, which I founded, I have worked to engage young people in conversations around climate change and environmental responsibility. My background in Meteorology has strengthened my desire to understand environmental challenges and contribute to solutions that make communities more resilient. I am passionate about innovation and technology, particularly how emerging technologies can solve real problems and create opportunities for people who have traditionally been left behind. I enjoy exploring areas such as web development, digital media, and new technologies because they demonstrate how creativity and technical knowledge can come together to create impact. I am passionate about communication and storytelling. Through photography, graphic design, public speaking, social media, and content creation, I have learned that even a powerful idea can remain invisible if it is not communicated effectively. I enjoy finding ways to turn complex ideas and experiences into stories that people can understand, remember, and act upon. I am passionate about leadership and community building. I believe leadership is not simply about holding a title; it is about creating opportunities for other people to contribute, grow, and discover their own potential. I enjoy bringing people together around a shared vision and building teams that can turn ambitious ideas into reality. Ultimately, I am passionate about the future and about ensuring that young people, particularly young Africans, have a meaningful role in shaping it. This is what draws me to TEDx. I believe that behind every major change is an idea, and behind many of those ideas is someone who was willing to ask, "What if?" I want to help create spaces where people can ask that question freely, where different perspectives can meet, and where ideas can travel beyond the room in which they were first shared. That is the spirit I hope to bring to TEDxAAAU.

Africa is not short of talent, creativity, or ambitious young people. What we often lack are enough platforms where those ideas can be heard, challenged, connected, and transformed into meaningful action. The idea behind TEDxAAAU is simple: the boundaries of what is possible are often created by the way we think about what is possible. As a university dedicated to aviation and aerospace, AAAU exists at the intersection of science, technology, exploration, innovation, and human possibility. Yet the ideas that can shape our future extend far beyond aviation. They can come from a student imagining cleaner ways to fly, a researcher challenging an established assumption, an entrepreneur solving an overlooked African problem, an educator rethinking how young people learn, or simply someone who sees a possibility others have not considered. TEDxAAAU will create a platform for these ideas. We believe young people should not only be prepared for the future, they should have the opportunity to help define it. Our generation is growing up during a period of extraordinary change. Artificial intelligence is transforming how we work and learn. Aviation and aerospace are entering new eras of innovation. Climate change is reshaping societies and economies. Africa has one of the world's youngest populations and enormous potential. Yet many young people still struggle to see themselves as creators, innovators, researchers, leaders, and problem solvers capable of influencing these changes. We believe ideas can change that. An idea can challenge a limitation. An idea can inspire a career. An idea can connect disciplines that have never been connected before. An idea can transform a community. Sometimes, an idea can change the direction of an entire generation. TEDxAAAU therefore seeks to create a space where ideas are not limited by academic disciplines, age, background, or conventional thinking. Whether the conversation is about the future of flight, sustainable aviation, climate resilience, artificial intelligence, space exploration, education, entrepreneurship, leadership, human potential, or an unexpected idea from an entirely different field, our goal is the same: to give people ideas that expand the way they see the world and their place within it. This is particularly important in Africa. Our future will not be defined only by the challenges we face, but by the ideas we develop to address them. We need young Africans who are willing to ask difficult questions, challenge outdated systems, build new solutions, and imagine possibilities beyond the limitations they have inherited. TEDxAAAU can be one meaningful part of that movement. We want attendees to leave with more than inspiration. We want them to leave with new questions, perspectives, connections, and ideas that continue to influence what they do long after the event. Ultimately, the idea worth spreading is this: We are capable of more than the boundaries we have accepted. When we give people the space to imagine beyond those boundaries, we create the possibility of a different future. TEDxAAAU will be a platform for the people willing to imagine that future and the ideas capable of bringing it closer.

My TED story began with a simple realization: sometimes, one idea can completely change the way a person sees their future. I have always been fascinated by people who look at something ordinary and ask, “What if it could be different?” That question has influenced many of the choices I have made from studying Meteorology and developing an interest in aviation and aerospace, to working with young people, advocating for climate education, and building initiatives around ideas I believe can create impact. My journey has repeatedly shown me the power of exposure. A conversation with the right person, learning something you had never encountered before, or discovering an idea that challenges what you previously believed can change the direction of someone's life. That is what I see in TED and TEDx. TEDx is not simply a stage where people give speeches. At its best, it creates a space where ideas travel between people. Someone walks into a room with one perspective and leaves with a question they had never considered, a possibility they had never imagined, or the courage to begin something they had previously thought was impossible. As a young person in Nigeria and a student at the African Aviation and Aerospace University, I have become increasingly interested in creating those kinds of spaces for other young people. AAAU is a unique institution. We are surrounded by conversations about aviation, aerospace, meteorology, technology, innovation, and the future. But I believe some of the most important ideas are found at the intersection of these disciplines and beyond them. A student may have an idea about sustainable aviation. Another may be developing a technology that could solve an African problem. A researcher may have discovered something that challenges how we understand our environment. An entrepreneur may be building something that could create opportunities for thousands of people. A young person may simply have a perspective that deserves to be heard. The question is: Do they have a platform? That question is part of why I wanted to bring TEDx to AAAU. My experiences in youth development, climate advocacy, education, communications, media, and community leadership have taught me that people often need more than opportunities they need platforms where their ideas can be recognized and connected with others. I founded EcoRise Youth Initiative because I believe young people should be active participants in solving the challenges around them. I have served in youth ambassadorial roles focused on literacy, education, and student engagement. Through these experiences, I have seen how powerful it can be when young people are encouraged to think, speak, create, and lead. TEDxAAAU is an extension of that belief. I want to help build an event where students do not simply come to listen, but come ready to question, discover, connect, and imagine. I want speakers to share ideas that remain with people long after the event ends. I want the audience to encounter perspectives that challenge their assumptions and expand their understanding of what is possible. Most importantly, I want TEDxAAAU to demonstrate that remarkable ideas do not only come from the world's most famous institutions or established leaders. They can come from a university student, a researcher, an entrepreneur, a pilot, a scientist, an artist, an educator, or anyone who has a meaningful idea worth sharing. My TED story is therefore still being written. I am not organizing TEDxAAAU because I believe I have all the answers. I am organizing it because I believe there are people around us who have questions worth asking, experiences worth sharing, and ideas that deserve a wider audience. I want to help create the stage where those ideas can take flight. And perhaps, somewhere in that audience, there will be someone whose life changes because of one idea they heard at TEDxAAAU. That is the kind of TED story I want to be part of.

People often see the things I publicly do student, meteorology enthusiast, youth advocate, photographer, web developer, and organizer but there are several things I am good at that are less visible. I am good at seeing potential in people. I naturally notice abilities in others that they may not recognize in themselves. I enjoy encouraging people to take that first step, especially when they are unsure whether they are capable. I am also good at turning ideas into something practical. I can take a conversation that starts with “What if we did this?” and begin thinking about the people, resources, structure, timeline, and steps required to actually make it happen. I genuinely enjoy building things from scratch. I am good at connecting people and ideas. I enjoy introducing people who have complementary skills or interests and creating opportunities for collaboration. Sometimes the right connection can be more valuable than the solution one person could have created alone. I am good at learning independently. When I become interested in something, I tend to go down the rabbit hole. Whether it is photography, web development, meteorology, GIS, aviation, climate science, or something completely new, I enjoy figuring things out even when nobody is formally teaching me. I am surprisingly good at simplifying complicated ideas. My academic background has exposed me to technical concepts, but my work with young people has taught me that knowing something is different from being able to explain it. I enjoy finding simple ways to make complex ideas understandable and relatable. I am good at observing. Photography probably contributed to this. I have learned to pay attention to details, patterns, expressions, and moments that others might overlook. I think that ability to observe also influences how I approach problems. I am good at starting things before I feel completely ready. I have learned that waiting until everything is perfect can mean waiting forever. Some of the initiatives and opportunities I have pursued began with uncertainty and a willingness to learn along the way. I am also good at bringing energy into a room. Whether I am working with a team, speaking with students, organizing an initiative, or brainstorming an idea, I enjoy creating an environment where people feel that something meaningful is possible. Perhaps the thing people know least about me is that I am very comfortable being a beginner. I don't need to know everything before I start learning. I am willing to ask questions, make mistakes, listen to people who know more than I do, and try again. I think that mindset has allowed me to move across different interests from science and aviation to climate advocacy, media, technology, and youth leadership. Ultimately, I think I am good at seeing possibility. When I look at a problem, I naturally start thinking about what it could become if approached differently. When I meet a young person, I tend to see potential before limitations. And when I encounter an idea that seems impossible, my first instinct is often to ask: “What would it take to make it possible?” That mindset is probably one of the biggest reasons I am excited about TEDxAAAU.
