Organizing TEDxMaplewood was one of my adult gap year projects. It was something outside of my usual comfort zone and sweet spot. Taking on pursuing sponsors, partners and media coverage levered many of the strengths I had though on a much smaller scale. It's sometimes harder to ask a small business for $500 than seek hundreds of thousands in capital for a big project. But I forged ahead, developed so many new and deeper relationships inside and outside of the community. What surprised me most was the giving and sharing spirit I encountered. The following documents my journey with TEDxMaplewood. https://patch.com/new-jersey/maplewood/around-soma-150-days-0

Hosting events. Creative structuring. Solving problems. Being curious and learning.
