Carol Cropp

Carol (she/her) is a marketing executive, entrepreneur, and non-profit fundraiser who helps organizations navigate change and increase impact. She started her career in media and then went on to co-found three companies working with international brands in marketing and technology. She currently serves as the Director, Global Partnerships at Girl Up. In this role, she works with Girl Up’s strategic corporate and visionary funding partners to support leadership development programs for youth worldwide. Carol also serves as a Congressional District Leader (MD-08) for the ONE Campaign to end extreme poverty and preventable diseases. When she’s not trying to tackle the world’s greatest challenges and drive toward obtaining the SDGs, Carol loves the outdoors, skiing, and kayaking. An avid learner, she usually has an audiobook in her earbuds while she’s hiking and traveling.

Service is my guiding principle, and where I invest my time and resources, to make a difference in the lives of others. I lead by serving and I support others (my team, Girl Up partners, my family) to achieve their professional and personal goals. I help my team grow their leadership skills. I humbly recognize my privilege and leverage it to elevate voices that are unlike mine, to seek social justice, and to drive systemic change. My story is unique, and my experience is valuable. I bring my whole self to every situation, and I value the life experiences and earned wisdom of others. I am dedicated to un-learning/learning/re-learning, and I will never stop learning. I am curious and intentional about studying varied cultures and celebrating differences. I believe all people are equal and should be treated with kindness and respect. I will always speak up and advocate for myself and others when I see injustice. Words Matter, Use Yours. I am a brave problem solver and approach my work with courage, tenacity, and discipline. I’m always seeking pro-active solutions with the best outcomes for the most people. I prioritize my mental and physical health, including making time for myself because I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister (to 7), a sister-in-law (to 9), a cousin (to 32), an aunt (to 19), and a friend to many. My family and tribe inspires me and holds me accountable. I strive that my faith, optimism, and integrity are demonstrated in my actions and words.
