Ph.D. Yoshida Beatriz Gonzales Ticona is a Bolivian academic, researcher, and university professor specializing in business sciences, economics, entrepreneurship, and higher education. She is a full-time faculty member in the Commercial Engineering program at Universidad Privada del Valle (Univalle) in La Paz, Bolivia. Her academic and research work focuses on contemporary challenges in business and economic development, including entrepreneurship, private investment, artificial intelligence, university competitiveness, innovation, and the development of professional competencies. Her research has examined factors influencing the growth and sustainability of entrepreneurial ventures in Bolivia, with particular attention to the external and internal conditions that affect business development. Gonzales Ticona has presented and published research in national and international academic contexts. Her publications include research on university positioning in Latin American rankings, foreign direct investment in Bolivia, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence in business sciences, and microcredentials in higher education. Her work on university positioning has also explored strategies and practices that can contribute to improving the international competitiveness of Bolivian universities. Her academic interests also extend to the transformation of higher education through emerging technologies and new approaches to professional development. In 2026, she published research addressing the impact of microcredentials on the development of professional competencies, reflecting her interest in innovation and the future of university education. As an educator and researcher, Gonzales Ticona promotes critical thinking, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the application of knowledge to real-world economic and business challenges. Researching and Teaching

We should stop educating people only to find jobs and start educating them to create the future. For generations, education has been built around a relatively simple objective: prepare people for the world of work. Students attend school, acquire knowledge and skills, graduate from university, and then enter the labor market. This model has contributed enormously to economic and social development. However, the world for which we are preparing students is changing faster than ever. Artificial intelligence, automation, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, globalization, and new forms of employment are redefining what it means to work and to build a career. In this rapidly changing environment, education cannot continue to focus exclusively on preparing people to find jobs. It must also prepare them to create opportunities, solve problems, innovate, and shape the future. The central idea is simple but transformative: we should stop educating people only to find jobs and start educating them to create the future.
