About Presthaya

Bio

Presthaya is a lawyer and communicator with a focus on the philanthropic sector. She is currently developing her approach to giving while requalifying to practice human rights law. Presthaya started her career at The National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse (NAPCAN). After qualifying, she supported migrants in navigating the complex landscape of Australian immigration law. This early experience helped shape her perspective on the challenges faced by the most vulnerable members of society. Following several years in reputation management, crisis communications and media relations across finance, tech, and infrastructure sectors, Presthaya rediscovered her passion for social issues while working at a global philanthropic organisation based in the Netherlands. Her mission was to help focus advocacy efforts and provide sectors with the strategic communications support necessary to drive systems change. She also supported the organisation’s transition towards greater transparency and leveraged her background in finance to effectively communicate the return on investment and impact of initiatives. Her diverse skill set also includes video journalism (BBC) and content production. In her philanthropic work that meant crafting impactful partner stories, which were strategically utilised for advocacy purposes.
