Bio

Ali Hajimiri finds it exhilarating to come up with innovative solutions to seemingly challenging problems by applying scientific and engineering principles to identify realistic solutions. He is interested in applications of electronic and photonics integrated circuits to wireless power transfer, sensing, communications, medical diagnostic and therapeutic, and space applications hoping to improve our collective lives. He is currently the Bren Professor of Electrical Engineering and Medical Engineering at California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Director of Holistic Integrated Circuit Laboratory, and co-Director of the Space-based Solar Power Project. He has is a founded several companies such as Axiom Microdevices and GuRu. He has more than 160 issue patents, close to 300 peer-reviewed publications, and several books and book chapters. He has won the Feynman Prize for Excellence in Teaching, Caltech’s most prestigious teaching honor. He was selected to the TR35 top innovator’s list. He is a Fellow of National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and IEEE.
