Tara Roberts

I have spent the last eight years following, diving with, and telling stories about Black scuba divers as they search for and help document slave shipwrecks around the world. Whew! I have a Nat Geo-produced podcast out about the journey called “Into the Depths” and a book “Written in the Waters: A Memoir of History, Home and Belonging.” Currently, I am an Explorer in Residence at the National Geographic Society, where I’m working on a dynamic part two of the journey. More details to come soon! I am also a former magazine editor, publisher, nonprofit communications director and editor of several non-fiction books for girls. I call Atlanta home but love to hit the road ... My motto is - have suitcase, will travel.
