I'm passionate about
People. At our headquarters in Vancouver, we have “It’s all about people” in the front entrance of our office, in huge vinyl letters. By posting it on the wall for everyone to see, we're constantly reminded of our commitment to create a people-focused culture. To ensure we're fulfilling this promise, we have created a 101 Life Goals program, which offers employees an opportunity to document and share their biggest, wildest dreams -- and even complete them together. Our Leadership Way takes care of developing people professionally -- we aim to promote from within. By focusing on peoples' personal and professional dreams, we've created a culture where people are happy, hardworking, and hungry for success.
An idea worth spreading
The "Can You Imagine?" wall is all about accomplishing something that seems impossible. By writing down big, hairy, audacious goals where we can see them so we're reminded of what we're working towards, we stay inspired to achieve those blue-sky dreams.
The wall came about when a PR Manager at 1-800-GOT-JUNK? imagined that the brand would be on the side of Starbucks cups during the "The Way I See It Campaign." Through her determination, she got our company on the cups, which were distributed to millions around the world.
Now, Brian has installed a "Can You Imagine?" wall at his company's headquarters in Vancouver. Staff with big goals are encouraged to write them on the wall -- and celebrate when they're achieved. He has also installed CYI walls in his children's school, and facilitated "dreaming sessions" to encourage children to think outside the box about what they want their futures to look like.
"Can You Imagine?" is all about letting yourself envision a bright, bold future and achieving what you thought was impossible.
