Bio
Aloha! I am a cybersecurity lead as well as a TEDx speaker and coach motivated to change lives one person at a time. I strive to teach everyone how to live life authentically by finding meaning in the world around them whether big or small. I also share my story of overcoming mental health while being a full time veteran and how navigating that taught me hope and gave me reassurance that I can make it through anything. And I know that if I can do it, against all the odds, so can you.
I'm passionate about
Changing lives with a story. There are so many people looking for hope and we all have an incredible story that can spark joy in someone or encouragement or show the person beside us that they’re not alone. Our stories unite us, so I am passionate about speaking and writing about mine to spark the same story telling venture in everyone around me.
An idea worth spreading
What if we took time to look at our differences and appreciate them for what they can do to make the world a better place. I believe in a world where our differences are beautiful and where we look at each other’s differences in astonishment and admiration, appreciating how much greater we can be when we bring multiple views, skills, talents, and backgrounds together to change our world.
The TED story
The first time I stepped onstage to speak was my TEDx talk in 2020 and prior to that the first TED talk I watched was about confidence and doing my power stance in the morning. I had needed that reminder, that I was powerful and that it is ok to take up space. And I remember thinking what was great idea that was and began watching many other great ideas on my TED app. After this, watching TED became a habit. It was much more fruitful than any TV show so I’d watch them after waking up, or while waiting in line, while grocery shopping, you name it. And everytime my life was inspired, after every talk my life was changed, and I began thinking, wow how amazing would it be if I could give back what so many have given to me. And February of 2020 right before COVID my dream came true in the beautiful islands of Hawaii. I had the opportunity to share my story of hope and overcoming in front of 100 people…and it felt like breathing. So not only did TED inspire me, but TED showed me who I could be and really…who I am.
Now as a TEDx speaker I feel even more apart of the amazing TED community, spreading ideas and being apart of something fresh, and always new, and always inspiring.
TED will always be true marker in my life.
