Bio
Hanna Simona lives and studies in Tartu, Estonia. Since her true passion is culture, she is currently obtaining her bachelor's degree from the University of Tartu in art history and classical philology. While studying in high school, Hanna Simona helped to kick-start the first national conference series for humanities students in Estonia (HUNTS). It was also at that time when she first discovered the magic of TED Talks: on one particularly slow and sleepy morning her physics teacher gave up on trying to get a couple of dozen snoozing students to solve complicated equations and instead showed them Arthur Benjamin’s captivating performance at TEDxOxford. That sparked her interest and she started to explore the different topics various TED speakers have discussed.
After graduating, she joined the volunteer team of Tartu Love Film Festival (Tartuff) and helped to bring this side-programme of the Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) – the only A-category film festival in Northern Europe – to life. Since 2021, she has been part of the TEDxTartu organising team, working in communications and marketing. Since 2022, she is also a member of the European Solidarity Corps.
