An idea worth spreading
Throughout our training as physicians we tend to focus on ourselves, which can lead to disconnection from our community. Allowing others to hear our own life stories is a great way of building a tight-knit and supportive community. The human bonds we nurture are a key part in any coping mechanism. Through them, we gain new insights, new knowledge, and we can feel relieved. Hence, the theme of our TEDx "the healing power of sharing"
The TED story
Long acquainted with TED talks, I've never thought I would be hosting one myself!. When the opportunity presented itself I didn't hesitate since it is a great chance to showcase our thriving South Bronx community and the amazing group of physicians I work with.
