Bio
I spent 17 years of my life getting ink on my clothes working for a daily newspaper, and the next decade telling stories about open-access higher ed. I'm deeply invested in both of these cornerstones of democracy: a free press and public education. I'm a kayaker, a fiddler, a struggling gardener, and a reluctant citrus farmer.
I'm passionate about
First generation college students, eliminating poverty across the border regions of southwestern United States, literacy, cinema, the intersection of productivity and humor.
