Justin Allen Slagle is the Manager of After School Programs for the Del Mar Union School District an 8 site program in San Diego, CA. An educator and education advocate Justin has spent seven years in the classroom before finding his “home” in district programming. In addition to time spent in the classroom Justin served one term as an elected member of the Cajon Valley School Board where he helped bring TEDucation to all Cajon Valley students. Justin also has an extensive background in Non-Profit management having served as managing director for multiple organizations including his current volunteer position with San Diego’s OnStage Playhouse. Justin has a BA in Musical Theatre and is pursuing his MA in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.

I have been watching Ted videos for years and have always been inspired and challenged by what I heard and saw. I was recently presented with the opportunity as the President of the Board of Cajon Valley Schools to help organize a Tedx event at one of our school sites. In addition to this I was invited by our Superintendent David Myashiro to attend Ted Active in Whistler and I am excited about these opportunities. My Ted story is just getting started but I can't wait to see where it takes me and the impact that my journey will have on myself and how I can bring and use that to inspire and impact others in my communities.

As an artist and educator people generally wouldn't think that I am good at business. But I tend to ignore all that right brain left brain stuff.
