Even before kindergarten started, I was telling stories! It is no surprise to those who knew me then that I became an award-winning public speaking teacher, scholar, and director with a passion for the social justice act of lifting voices that are missing. Today I leverage my 30 years of experience in the public speaking and storytelling classroom and 20 as director of a high-profile communication consulting organization by coaching. I am a communication coach to the adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities living at Peacehaven Community Farm in Whitsett, NC, a TEDxHighPoint coach, and the storytelling coach at Hirsch Wellness Network, where I aid in lifting the voices of people whose lives have been touched by cancer.

If the arts are for everyone then why are people with disabilities absent? They should be intentionally welcomed to all cultural arts experiences. It is time for a culture shift.
