Bio
I was born, raised, and live in beautiful Colorado. Since I was three years-old, I started teaching my stuffed animals and it has been a passion for me ever since. Being an only child, I grew up with quite an imagination (and little concept of boundaries-at least until I started school).
I started as a high school English teacher, but have found my home in the challenging world of being a Digital Teacher Librarian. I collaborate and co-teach with classroom teachers to integrate technology, research, and learning in a student-centered way.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading (I am a librarian), I write, I love movies, and I love spending time with my two god sons and three "fake" niece and nephews. I also have two greyhounds which I adopted from a rescue group.
I'm passionate about
Learning in messy, uncomfortable ways and showing our students that it is okay to do so.
Writing about things I'm interested in: blogging for school, writing mysteries and fiction on my own.
Traveling- I have been to around 38 of the 50 United States, several Canadian provinces, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, and very recently, England and Scotland.
An idea worth spreading
I am interested in creating a "Citizenship in the Digital Age" program. A series of mini-lessons that help middle and high school (secondary) students how to be productive citizens in our global world, ethically conduct themselves, and know how to be safe and secure.
