Okan Yılmaz is a visionary English teacher and MUN (Model United Nations) Advisor who combines his academic background in English Language and Literature and International Relations with an unending passion for discovery. With an educational philosophy that transcends the four walls of the classroom, he has made it his mission to teach his students not only the rules of a language but also the vibrant dynamics of technology, history, fashion and life itself. A former amateur footballer with a passion for nature and extreme sports, a keen sports enthusiast and an incorrigible traveller, Okan also pushes the creative boundaries of the digital world through his hobbies of web design and software development. His ability to bring together different disciplines makes him not just an educator, but a true life mentor for his students. As one of the key figures behind the tradition of his school being the first institution to organise an official TEDx event and the ‘TEDx: Prima Lux’ organisation, he continues to broaden the horizons of the new generation and inspire them.
