Zack Shubkagel

Zack is a proven leader inspiring and managing Willoughby Design's creative team to create result-driven work. He recently opened a satellite office in San Francisco. Throughout his 13 year career he has connected the dots between design and business solutions. He is grounded in developing brand experiences that translate through environments, packaging, interactive and print communications. He has led projects for accounts including Panera Bread, Hostess Brands, To-Go Ware, New Leaf Paper, Worldwise, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and also designs for projects including the KC Chamber, Cerner, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center and SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza. A journalism/advertising graduate from the University of Missouri, Zack has been with Willoughby since 2004. He is also an alumnus of the AIGA Business Perspectives for Creative Leaders program at the Yale School of Management. A leader in the design community, Zack is currently on the nominating committee for AIGA's National Board. He served as program chair for AIGA's Get Out the Vote Initiative, and has served as president of AIGA Kansas City. Zack helped launch the first KC Design Week, and served as chair for two years. He has a passion for the built environment, sustainability and projects that directly impact our society.

I helped design the Kauffman Foundation's TED Global Village Tent and sponsor materials in 2010. I have attended TEDxKC several times and am looking forward to attending my first TEDWomen conference in 2013.
