About Jackie
Bio
Proud and confident, second generation Italian American. Married, to the love of my life, proving true love really does exist, even in this age of divorce. A proud mother of a genius son, whom I am currently homeschooling through a partnership under the school district and has a shared loved for STEM interests. Parent of two rescue animals; a Jack Russell and a Cat.
Navigating a recent disability has consumed a majority of my life and halted my entire forward progressions in IT, Writing, Racing, sports of every kind, Metaphysics, eternal student working towards 5 doctorate degrees and personal life altogether, but I refuse to give up.
In and out of a wheelchair three times now, I'm pushing forward regardless of the nonexistent solutions at this time. 3D Printing may be exactly what I need to reconstruct the entire lower lumbar in a functioning replacement surgery.
My career began at a very young age, babysitting at 9, working in a day care center after school at 14. I tested out of 8th grade with college level test scores. I chose to stay in high school because I wasn't ready to leave my family, friends and Alaska. The choices for college were extremely limited in Alaska at that time. I regret not going for it, now, looking back. I entered the King Career Center trade school and by 17 a computer operator for the largest computer room in North America, SOHIO. Now known as BP Exploration.
My refusal to leave Alaska limited my potential greatly but I love Alaska, it's my home. It was worth more to me to be in Alaska than to earn much higher career opportunities. The offers came and many were almost too enticing to let go.
Regardless, I stuck to my dreams and worked my way through the banking industry converting WANG systems and programming mortgage systems. All the while maintaining my writing, education and sports careers simultaneously.
I set a goal to becoming the First and Only Women's Team to Finish the Iron Dog in 1997. After intense training, securing sponsors, a championship race, I found the greatest racer and partner, Missy. Together, in 2001, we became title holders and made a first for women. We are the First and Only women's team to finish the Iron Dog; the world's longest and toughest snowmobile race that covers 2000 miles in Alaska's harshest terrain in less than a week. Other women's teams have tried in the 32 years of the event. It is brutal and less than half the field of 32 teams do not finish every year as a testimonial to the skill set required to even finish.
My careers were taking off as baby boomers began retiring and my CIO position, 40 Under 40, Rotary Ambassador, five doctorate degrees, and an Iron Dog book series as well as training for a championship run, all came to a grinding halt.
I refuse to stop and continue to seek avenues to repair my spine and nerves so I can focus on making the world a better place. I barely even got started.
I'm passionate about
As a second generation Italian, passion is never lacking in anything I do. Some consider it a skill while others consider it a curse.
Aside from the obvious passion for family, love, and all the many reasons to be passionate, I have a varied and exhaustive list. It would be easier to say the only thing I'm not passionate about is golf.
The Iron Dog is my primary passion in life coupled with writing, STEM, indigenous culture preservation, recognition and Elder inclusion in government, and now closing insurance loopholes.
Inspiring our youth and anyone depressed and suicidal to keep pushing forward was one of my desired outcomes for cross country endurance racing. I hoped to inspire those struggling with determination that dreams do come true.
My passion to find a technology for lower lumbar replacement so I can return to my passion driven life pushes me onward.
An idea worth spreading
Thoughts are more than what keep us up at night. Thoughts contain matter and energy that permeates our entire universe.
The potential that just a simple thought can heal a complicated disease is worth exploring further. It is more than, "it was all in the head" or just coincidental. There must be some way to study the complicated phenomenal results of the placebo effect.
To do so we must turn to the technology and fantastic mind of Tesla while combining the other non related theories to quantify these concepts.
The power our thoughts have into manifesting our dreams into a reality is astonishing and if harnessed with good intent, miracles can become a reality.
Jesus told us that everything he was able to accomplish, we shall and more. To manifest this into physical reality requires belief. Beliefs are thoughts.
