Bio

As a third-year student enrolled in Royal Road's Bachelor of Justice Studies program, Riley is passionate about making a difference by advocating for others and ensuring everyone has a voice. Prior to attending Royal Roads, Riley graduated from the Justice Institute of British Columbia's Emergency Management program. As an avid volunteer for non-profits, Riley believes in giving back to the community through mentoring youth and future leaders. For dedicating his time to a local education-driven charity, Riley was recently awarded a Commonwealth Service Commendation and Medal for exceptional service as a technical expert in his field. Known as a community leader, his last project was supporting an underserved community through the opening and operation of a multimillion-dollar recreation facility. When the pandemic shut down his industry, Riley worked in an isolation ward as a paramedic testing and treating COVID-19 patients. As the pandemic slowed down, he shifted to working with a Mine Rescue Team to provide emergency medical response in underground tunnels and mines.
