I have a Bachelor of Social Science (Human Services) and have worked in the not for profit community sector for over 20 years. I have worked in the youth, homelessness, aged and disability care, women's health and mental health sectors.

I am passionate about youth participation, human rights, social justice, equity, reducing stigma, increasing acceptance and diversity. I love the saying think globally, act locally!

To see more people trained in Mental Health First Aid and ASIST suicide prevention just like it is important to learn CPR and First Aid. There is still a stigma associated with mental health and seeking help particularly for young people. Teen Mental Health First Aid is excellent as it teaches young people how to help their friends as evidence shows that this is the most likely place young people seek help from.

I was fortunate to become involved with the inspiring and passionate TEDxBunbury team for the inaugural 2014 event. I learned a lot about team work and had a great time being involved. Very proud and excited to have been a part of the event! I hope to see ongoing TEDx events in Bunbury whether it be an annual event, youth event or regular small TEDxSalon events to keep the inspiration, conversations and ideas spreading!
