I came into TED like a modern-day Theseus winding his way through the labyrinthine hallways of the global production and event space. Having such a diverse international odyssey of a career producing live experiences and television, I’m used to operating in that strange intersection of storytelling, technology, and organized chaos. TED turns out to be the perfect environment to apply that talent. I get to help build the platforms and stages where a diverse plethora of luminaries get their fifteen minutes to impact how everyone else thinks. It's the best. At first, I was focused on the infrastructure: the screens, the staging, the logistics, those thousand tiny details that make the experience work. But the longer you’re around TED, the more you realize that, much like the ship of my symbolic namesake, the real product doesn't come from any one aspect of the event itself; it comes from the totality of energy you absorb by being part of this nexus of human potential operating at its best. And you get it, once you've been exposed to that sweet sweet Heisenberg-grade raw creative fuel, you’re hooked. TED becomes a total Sun Scoop for the soul.
