Bio
I am an English teacher at Saline High School and a co-director of the SHS Writing Center. I have experience teaching a variety of courses and grade levels, but I love teaching writing the most. Outside of school, I enjoy running, spending time with my family and Mack (our fluffy puppy), decorating, baking, and traveling. I believe in the power of words, kindness, and grace.
I'm passionate about
writing. I truly believe in the power of words—with words, we can advocate for and relate to others; we can make sense of our world and call attention to inequity; and we can play with craft and imagine what has never been. For that reason, developing students’ writing skills matters a great deal to me. I find life in watching students discover that their words made a difference, that their words evoked emotion, and that their words created something wholly unique.
