I started out as an inner-city school teacher through the Teach First programme. I left the classroom to co-found The Brilliant Club, an award-winning charity that recruits, trains and places PhD researchers to work as tutors and teachers in state schools. I now work as Head of Philanthropy at XTX Markets, a leading financial technology firm. Our philanthropy strategy focuses on two priorities: 1) Access to STEM education and careers, especially in maths and technology. 2) Maximum impact giving, including climate sustainability, health in LMICs and scientific innovation. Within the climate space, we are particularly interested in technological solutions such as CCS, and products that use AI and machine learning.
