Bio
Samantha is MD and co-founder of the Kelp Forest Foundation (KFF). KFF is
*looking to fill the gap in the science around the ecological benefits of kelp forests (CO2 sinks, biodiversity boost, nitrogen filters, etc) - so we co-fund research;
*striving to include cultivated kelp forests within Blue Carbon calculations so as to attract green/blue financing to the sector and help future kelp farmers - so we are co-funding a co2 sequestration methodology;
* increase public and policy awareness of the eco&socio-economic benefits of kelp forests - so we are planning a documentary;
* create of a giant kelp seed bank for safekeeping and future farming and conservation efforts - so we are collecting spores from global wild kelp beds.
