An entrepreneur with business interests in technology (mobile, software, security) and consumer businesses (retail, distribution and education). He is on the Board of his family business, The Sun Group, which comprises of three companies in international trade, hardware distribution and security and surveillance systems. He is an active angel investor in several successful companies that have been invested in by leading venture capital funds like Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins. He is on the Investment Committee of the Mumbai Angels Venture Mentors and on the Board of Trustees of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) in Mumbai. He was Founder and CEO of Aurovision, a leading global Enterprise Intelligence IT company, where he built 3 business practices (DW/BI, GIS, BFSI) in US, UK and India and 50+ customers including several Fortune 2000 companies like Unilever, P&G, Staples, Citibank, S&P, Pitney Bowes, Time Warner, Tata and Reliance. A finalist in Red Herring’s Top 100 Private Companies in Asia, Aurovision has been acquired and now markets solutions around its own SaaS products in business intelligence and document management. Previously, he was Founder of Elan Global, a pioneer in hi-tech security solutions in India. He partnered to represent several global brands for specialized products in India including Panasonic, Black & Decker and LG. He won several large projects including Airport Authority of India, Reserve Bank of India, ONGC, L&T and Tata, created a distribution network with over a thousand dealers across West and South India. Prior to that he was a Sr. Consultant with Covansys (a CSC co.) in e-Commerce and Data Warehousing, and a Consultant with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, USA. He is an MBA from University of Pittsburgh (USA) and an MMS from NMIMS, Bombay (India). He has also completed executive management in venture capital from London Business School and ISB.
