Estevão Ciavatta

Estevão Ciavatta is a director, screenwriter and producer from Brazil graduated in Film and TV at Universidade Federal Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro. He is the founding partner of Pindorama Filmes, the first Brazilian carbon neutral company in cinema/TV industry and a reference in social and environmental issues. Mr. Ciavatta has directed hundreds of television shows, including the award winnings BRASIL LEGAL and CENTRAL DA PERIFERIA, both broadcasted on TV GLOBO - Brazil, as well as films like the award winnings NELSON SARGENTO NO MORRO DA MANGUEIRA, a short-film about the Brazilian musician Nelson Sargento, and PROGRAMA CASÉ, a documentary about the first radio days in Brazil. On 2012, he created and directed the HBO series PREAMAR, presented all over Latin America and USA. On November 2014, will release his first feature film MADE IN CHINA (writer, producer and director).

Every child should know about trees, herbs and plants that are in our everyday life. The relation that we have with plants are in the same way that we perceive them: static, no communication, no feelings. That seems to me an enormous error. Beyond being fundamental for most of our everyday necessities, the plants have developed strategies to survive in our planet in some ways much more sophisticated than ours. The idea that we are superior hides prejudice and ignorance. The knowledge brings respect and wisdom.
