About David
Bio
I am a communications, media production, and management professional living in Kabul. I currently work with SAB Media and Consulting Services in hands-on documentary production and with Pixel Entertainment in business development. Prior to switching over to Pixel, I led MCXi Strategic Communications, a sister company of Pixel, as the Head of Project Management and Acting Director. I managed projects for such entities as the US Embassy, the UK Embassy, the Italian Embassy, UNAMA, and other international clients and partners. My original purpose for moving to Afghanistan was to serve as the Media Relations Manager at the American University of Afghanistan, where I also assumed the role of staff mentor to the Student Photography Club. I have considerable copywriting experience working in the field of public relations, with time spent at the two of the largest names in PR in the Middle East, Asda’a Burson-Marsteller and Mindshare MENA.
I'm passionate about
Graphic design, photography, videography, the English language, the Afghan media sector.
The TED story
I led the video team for the second TEDx Kabul event in December 2013, and I am looking to be heavily involved in the planning and execution of a third event in Kabul this fall.
