Moon Mokgoro

Moon Mokgoro is a physics and mathematics student, legal assistant, writer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is the founder of Protest Poster Project, a non-profit organisation focused on fighting against gender based violence and building a library/archive of activist, anarchist and feminist literature. As well as the founder of Fig Mother, a Johannesburg based artisan cake studio. She draws inspiration from nature and sculpture to create cake designs that are not only desserts, but also works of art in their own right. She has written for the Are.na 2023 Annual, Byline Mag, Goethe Institut and others. Archiving and documenting, collecting and remembering are what Moon aspires to do in all her work.

Physical archives must continue to be built and created. Physical media and literature remains the most important source of knowledge and collection.
