I am a New York City based executive coach who works with startup CEOs and executives to help them scale their leadership capacity as they grow the business. I also coach senior executives in large public companies. I am the author of From Start-up to Grown-up and the creator and host of the podcast From Start-up to Grown-up My areas of specialty include: Startups; Executive Presence; Power, influence and charisma; Decision-making; Corporate politics. I am a proud member of the MG 100 Coaches, a group of top global coaches selected by Marshall Goldsmith I'm on the faculty of the “Runway” program at Cornell Tech – an accelerator which focuses on helping post-docs commercialize their research and build companies. I'm also an angel investor in and advisor to a number of start-ups both in the US and developing countries. I speak and write (HBR, Inc, Forbes, Fast Company) and teach in exec ed at Harvard and Naval War College. I have also worked with political and social leaders from areas of conflict. I love music of all kinds, and in particular I love to sing. I love theater; fitness/strength training (ask me about kettlebells); swing dancing; dinner parties; structured conversation. I am a fearless cook of ethnic food and my spirit vegetable is cauliflower romanesco.

Dialogue. It really bothers me when people - in truth or jest - say that we can’t be friends if we disagree about something, including trivial things. I'm so passionate about it I did a TEDx talk about this, in Tuscany in September!

I have a masters in show tune lyrics and a PhD in Hamilton. Also I can probably deadlift you (but no I’m not going to prove it.)
