Bio

Adam Hebert lives in a world without rules and I write bios in both first-person as well as third-person because I, and he, can do that. Adam grew up in a strange and lawless time ruled by Ninja Turtles and flying DeLorean’s where he learned all his life lessons through comic books and cartoons. In high school, I was a ‘super nerd’ graduating with a 4.3 GPA, honor roll, president’s list, and an award of excellence in art. After high school, Adam decided the best way to use his big brain was… To do absolutely nothing with it until he turned 32 years old. Sure he worked at some jobs and moved from here to there, but most of that makes for a boring bio so we’ll skip ahead. At age 32 Adam was asked to help start a company that improves a vehicle’s gas mileage by introducing hydrogen into the engine’s air intake. I know next to nothing about engines or science, so of course, Adam said ’yes’. We failed at lowering gas mileage, but we succeeded at increasing the horsepower in my Tahoe and I almost blew off my hand in a small, yet powerful, hydrogen explosion. Now, being bit by the entrepreneurial bug and with both hands intact, Adam decided it was time to start his own company. So he and his wife developed a web-based company called the Peanut Butter List. Oh yes, along the way I got married to a beautiful woman with 3 kids and we bought a house, a couple of dogs, and so, so, many cats… This is in fact why we needed to make the Peanut Butter list - A website that compared more than 10,000 common grocery prices every week so you can find the lowest possible prices. I still know more about grocery shopping and coupons than I’d like to admit. We abandoned this company because complex websites are super expensive and money is not cheap. At 38 Adam bought a nice DSLR camera… My first camera in fact. So obviously I instantly became a professional wedding photographer launching Epoch Moment Photography. Fast forward 6 years and Adam is still shooting weddings all over CO. and CA. He’s also launched Epoch 365, a media company producing all things audio, video, and photo. In addition, he founded the Know Where Project, GNN, and Colorado Icon. I also work as a member of the COS Chamber & EDC, PERCS in Canon City, and acts as the Chief Creative Officer for TEDx Manitou Springs.

I'm passionate about

Life, happiness, and the pursuit of the perfect candy.

An idea worth spreading

The idea that the world is not as serious a place as some people make it out to be. Have fun, enjoy life, laugh more than you don't, and die with a smile on your face. In the end, you're judged on the seriousness and weight of your actions and not by the amount of fun you have during the process.

The TED story

Is a work in progress.

Things you might not know

I feel like I've expressed my talents to most people... Maybe creative writing. Granted not proper grammar, but I can write a well woven story. Also perhaps comedy. I don't have a set of balls big enough to be on stage telling jokes so it's not going to happen... But, in life, I think I'm funny. Statistically speaking, if I think I'm funny then there has to be more people in the world who also think I'm funny. These are my people.
