Bio

Jeronimo De Miguel joined Manulife Financial in 2006 after graduating with an MBA in Finance from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has had a number of finance-related roles within Manulife since that time including Director of Investor Relations, Director of Financial Reporting & Planning and Assistant Vice President, Strategic Planning. In the Fall of 2010 he moved into a new role as Assistant Vice-President, External Relations, which includes media relations, philanthropy and Manulife’s new Signature Cause of volunteerism. He currently holds the position of Vice-President, Branding & Creative, where he manages the Company’s brand building efforts in Canada and is responsible for governance associated with brand performance and implementation for the Manulife around the globe. In acknowledgement of his work in helping build strong communities throughout the country, Jeronimo was awarded The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Jeronimo is on the Board of Directors of the Harbourfront Centre and a member of the organizing committees for annual gala fundraisers at Canadian Stage, the Canadian Film Centre and the Governor General Performing Arts Awards. Prior to joining Manulife in 2006, Jeronimo worked for a number of UN agencies in development programming around capacity-building efforts in post-conflict areas such as Kosovo, Sri Lanka, Cyprus and Brazil. In 2010, he co-founded Toronto's first urban winery, Vintage One Wines with his sister and winemaker Alejandra De Miguel. Jeronimo is originally from Mendoza, Argentina and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and French.
