Bio
When I tell people I’m an oncologist, I typically get one of two responses - What’s an oncologist? or That must be depressing? Being a cancer doctor is many things - gratifying, humbling, scientifically rigorous, ever-changing and yes, challenging but not depressing. I love what I do and am fortunate to include education, research and advocacy in my work. I serve my community as Past-President of the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists and am the Medical Director for Wellbeing & Engagement for BC Cancer.
I learn a lot from my practice and from my patients - I choose to come to TED because I find it opens my world to a mindset that aspirational, inspirational, and reaffirming.
In 2022, I did my first TEDx ‘How to Flip the Script on Cancer’
