An idea worth spreading
I believe we will succeed in becoming a space faring species. The next step in that direction, following the exponential commoditization of space travel will be manufacturing in low or zero gravity conditions. In the next decade we will have to train human talent to work at and manage LowEarthOrbit or moon-based manufacturing. These ambitions will require properly trained talent pipelines. For reference, consider the premise of the phenomenal Japanese anime series 'Planetes'.
How might we develop a program and curriculum to select the right kind of women and men to build humanity's future in space?

The TED story
After my second successful business exit, around 2011, I decided to take a break. At the time, a friend introduced me to Lakshmi Pratury, the founder of INKtalks (a early partnership with TED that developed a similar platform for the Indian elite network). I joined Lakshmi's team of phenomenal folks, many of whom were active members of the TED community (including multiple-times TED speaker, Raghava KK, the renowned artist & thinker). I spent 2 years contributing to that ecosystem, assisting with sponsorships and running the operations for a program similar to TED Fellows.
In 2013, I began volunteering with the TEDxBangalore events, and subsequently began volunteering for TEDxLavelleRoad as well, in Bangalore.
Being a part of the TED community is an eye opening experience that has pushed me to aim for larger, more impactful life (& professional) goals. I have made friends with so many phenomenal friends, globally, and have always found support amongst this network.
