Bio

Blah blah-I'm accomplished but so are all Tedsters so who really cares. Cliff note version-I'm a cynic so started private fund specializing in short selling, evolved to Private equity for small companies with focus in Internet or Finance. Took some companies public, wrote a book about experiences which couldn't clear legal. Like challenges. Ran some marathons, did some triathlons, raced cars all over the world in events such as the Baja 1000, and the toughest race in the world the Dakar Rally which is over 5000 miles through the desert and mountains. Got involved on board of some small charities after rescuing a black Lab altered my view on life. Stopped eating meat-never liked to drink so I don't, think religion is a tool to control people. Became Seven Habits Covey Disciple 10 years ago and live by my principles rather than some god that I cannot believe to exist.

I'm passionate about

Living-work hard-play hard-help others help themselves. I'm passionate about music, rally racing, Labradors, running, marital arts, mentoring, making a difference and leaving the world a better place.

An idea worth spreading

World Computer Exchange-using old recycled computers worth no value in the US and redeploying them to youth in third world countries. Project has resulted in connecting impoverished children in places like Nigeria, or Kenya, that would never normally have access, and kept these computers out of landfills. My firm has sponsored several thousand computers which have been successfully installed impacting tens of thousands of children. www.worldcomputerexchange.org

The TED story
