Bio

I'm currently working in Corporate Strategy for a large multinational; a role which changes in nature every time you try to pin it down, but which essentially revolves around creating alignment, momentum (that magic word!), engagement and focus throughout continuous, challenging transformation. I've worked in the pharma industry for most of my career, fuelled by a commitment to creating access to life-changing medicines for those most in need. A lot of my time and energy is spent innovating around how to expand access, create safe and sustainable routes-to-market in volatile environments and remote communities, and how to accelerate drug development to bring scientific breakthroughs to market sooner. Prior to joining the pharma industry I worked for the BBC (British Broadcasting Company) in my teens and earlier twenties as a TV and radio presenter; a rather different early career!

I'm passionate about

People. The fundamental equality of people, the magic power and potency of diversity and the belief that whatever the problem, the answer lies in people. Also: innovation, creativity; my watchwords.

The TED story

I've regarded TED as my private oxygen for years; a stimulus, catalyst, challenge and continual reminder to think differently. I've shared and used TED talks with my teams to create debate and dialogue and challenge the status quo; to help unlock issues and break through silos. It's long been an ambition to attend a meeting and this one fitted perfectly. I'm thrilled to be here and looking forward to a deep infusion of energy and connectivity - and to contributing and learning as much as I can.
