Rosa María Hernández García

Rosa María Hernández García earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the Tecnológico de Monterrey University, receiving an Honorable Mention and having been awarded the distinction of Best Student by the Diario de México. She holds a PhD in Humanistic Studies, specializing in Literature and Discourse, pursued with a grant from the CONACYT (National Council for Science and Technology). Her thesis focused on the artistic project of the nation of Alfonso Reyes and Octavio Paz. In addition, she obtained a master's degree in Humanities from the UDEM in 2008, specializing in art and literature. Rosa María focuses on the didactics of literature and communication strategies at the Spanish Department of the Santa Catarina Tecnológico High School, where she lectures for the different academic grades of the International and Multicultural High School. She has taught at the Tecnológico de Monterrey University since 1993, where she has been recognized for her professional performance and has been certified for teaching at the upper middle level by PROFORDEMS, CERTIDEMS of the SEP (Ministry of Public Education), with a project on poetry. She has also taught music at Edinart and culture at the Monterrey University. As editor at Proceso Gráfico, since 1993 she has collaborated in a number of editorial projects on Latin American painters and photographers with the MARCO Museum, the Mexican History Museum, the Monterrey Museum, the Cervantina Library, CEMEX, Arte A.C., CONARTE (Council for Culture and Arts of Nuevo León) and various Mexican galleries. She combines teaching with various non-profit projects for the promotion of reading and art such as Las Aureolas de Reyes, the youth cultural days of the INJUDE, Proyecto Magenta, reading clubs and the magazine Velocidad Crítica. She participated in the linguistic group created by Dr. Lydia Rodríguez and Dr. Irene Gartz to study the use of language in Monterrey. For her research activities for the CONACYT, she has specialized in the development of the mind through the existing relationship between thought, art and the feeling of love. She has participated with individual presentations at conferences, such as the 2017 Conference on Alfonso Reyes at Cal State University in Los Angeles, California, and in the First National Colloquium of Mexican Literature of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas in 2014. Her essay "Lo simbólico y lo pedagógico en Octavio Paz" ("Symbolism and Pedagogy in Octavio Paz") was reviewed and published in the book "Exégesis e intertextualidad en la literatura, la historia y la educación" (“Exegesis and Intertextuality in Literature, History and Education”), funded by CONACULTA (National Council for Culture and Arts).
