Bio
Paul is the Co-Founder, CEO and business partner with TED All Star and best-selling author Susan Cain in the development of Quiet Revolution LLC ("Quiet"). Quiet has an ambitious agenda to convert the unprecedented awareness ignited by Susan Cain's book "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking" and related TED Talk into actionable tools and solutions for the workplace, schools, parenting, relationships and more. Quiet will launch an intense global media effort to broaden and deepen the revolution, and will be seeking passionate Quiet Partner leaders and leading organizations from the corporate, education, media, academic and philanthropy spheres. The Quiet Revolution's mission is to empower introverts to draw on their natural strengths (not ask them to conform to the "extravert ideal") to learn, live and love. Paul and Susan Cain have been friends and colleagues for 20+ years, and their relationship was founded on a common passion for the study of the human condition. Whereas Susan Cain spent most of the past 15 years pursuing the intellectual/contemplative side of what became "Quiet" (the "yin"), Paul's study was centered on "action" (the "yang") as a leader in roles over 15 years that spanned CEO positions for JPMorgan Asset Management on two continents (most recently CEO of The JPMorgan Private Bank in Asia) and General Counsel positions for JPMorgan Asset Management on three continents (Asia, Europe and the US). Paul left JPMorgan in 2011 to establish PacificBridge Capital LLC, an elite ultra-high-net-worth funded investment firm that founds, advises and funds unique early stage ventures that currently include Lotus Pacific Group Ltd (a Vietnam-based contract furniture manufacturing business that serves major hospitality companies and private equity hotel portfolio owners), Homestead Capital LLC (a premier investment firm that invests in a diversified portfolio of operating US farmland for leading institutional investors), and, as its signature mission, Quiet Revolution LLC. Paul received a J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of its Law Review in 1991, clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit for Judge Conrad Cyr from 1991-1992, and was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton from 1992-1997 when he joined JPMorgan Asset Management. Paul has traveled to all 7 continents, loves to read, has been married to Colleen Scibetta for 26 years, and has 2 amazing teenage boys -- one a physics major who wants to save the world, the other a well-known but controversial hip-hop artist in Hong Kong. Paul and his family maintain residences in both Hong Kong and New York.
I'm passionate about
Building a world that empowers introverts (and there is an introvert in us all) to draw on their natural strengths; global leadership + innovation built on humility + East-West cross-cultural awarenes
An idea worth spreading
A "Quiet" world is possible and will be better for us all. In a Quiet world, introverts (there's one in us all) are empowered to draw on their natural strengths (we do not ask ourselves, our workers, our children, our students or our spouses to conform to an "extravert ideal"). In a Quiet world, we can achieve a better balance between action and contemplation, we can cherish character, self-awareness, listening skills, deep thinking and creativity alongside "talking". At work, a Quiet world is more engaging and productive, is filled with spaces which encourage a better focus and provide opportunities to recharge, is filled with people using revolutionary tools to improve how we lead, innovate, communicate and sell. At school, a Quiet world is filled with teachers using revolutionary tools to get the most from their students. At home, a Quiet world is filled with spouses and parents educated on how to get the most from their children and each other. A Quiet World is Possible

The TED story
My TED story is twofold. First, I am the business partner of "All Star" TED Talker and best-selling author Susan Cain in launching the Quiet Revolution, who's mission is to empower introverts (and there is introvert in us all) to draw on their natural strengths (we will never ask people to be more productive or more engaged at work, better teachers of students, better parents, better spouses, better friends, by conforming to an "extravert ideal"!). The Quiet Revolution seeks to create a portal to a world that cherishes character, self-awareness, listening skills, deep thinking creativity. Susan Cain's TED experience -- sharing an idea and giving it a unique platform to grow -- is the basis for my own TED experience. Second, I am a huge TED fan, for myself and my children. I cherish the establishment of the TED community as a concept, am also attending TED because I look forward to listening to the ideas you deem worth sharing!
