I am Jaffar, a 24 year-old student. I am currently working with Resilient Design Workshop(RDW) as the Operation Assistant manager. I enjoy learning and cooking and mentoring.

I am passionate about helping children and people in need. I like politics and business, I can talk about these topics for hours. I am a learner of everything and nothing, I believe that we are put here and in every situation to learn a thing or two. I am a leader. Through volunteering with TED, I have been able to practice my leadership and mentorship through. The skills that I learned have been the stepping-stones to where I am today.

I watched a first TED talk on YouTube 5 years ago. It was titled "How to motivate yourself and change your behavior". It felt like the advice I wanted to hear but no one was there to tell me. It felt like a friend I needed. I watched many more after that. A year ago, I saw that there was a TEDx Nyarugenge. I wanted to get involved in any way that I can. Tedx talks have helped me in so many ways and I wanted to pay it forward. A friend sent me an application to volunteer and I knew it was my way in. Since then, I have enjoyed volunteering with TED.
