Bio
Communication has a critical role to play in making our world a better place through inspiring positive change, and in helping to make our future safe, sustainable and resilient. In my role leading Communications for The Resilience Shift, I am consolidating my long interest in and passion for sustainable development with a focus on resilience and adaptation that can contribute to making our world safer in the face of climate crisis.
With a path encompassing writing and languages via journalism and marketing, broadcasting and digital media production, my expertise is in programme and change communications. It's been an interesting journey and I have acquired extensive experience along the way about how best to build advocacy and global engagement whether of employees or a community of interest.
It's important to me to be learning and growing personally and professionally and to always be enjoying what I do, to engage fully with the people I support day to day, and to leave a trail of good behind me where possible.
I'm passionate about
Giving youth a voice in all our societies, while protecting and caring for those less able to stride forward confidently into the future. i want my four children to have a wonderful world to live in that is safe, sustainable and resilient - protecting, connecting us and providing us with what we need - without destroying the planet.
An idea worth spreading
Let's make sure that our solutions to tackle the climate crisis are embedded with resilience throughout so that our future is safe, sustainable and resilient. And let's put more young people in charge of the big ideas - it's their future we must ensure for the sake of humanity.
The TED story
I am almost always surprised and inspired by TED talks and have long wanted to get more involved. I like to wander through topics randomly and watch at odd moments of space in my life - on the bus, at the bus stop, waiting to collect the kids from school. I like to learn things that are new to me, and make me realise that I am actually interested in something I had grown up or been told when young were not for me. Now with the organisation I work for, The Resilience Shift, we are delighted to have become a Network Partner for TED Countdown and will be running our own small TEDx event where we hope to share the big messages. We hope to stay involved in the run up to COP26 and contribute, amplify and collaborate, and i am very happy to be able to support that through my work. For our children and our societies, for nature and the planet and above all for our future.
