I have 9 years of experience in the sustainable development sector with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). During the course of my tenure at TERI, I have worked with various groups in the organization such as Technology Dissemination, Technology Transfer and Council for Business Sustainability. These groups are responsible for the majority of business facing interactions that TERI conducts and deliver TERI’s various offerings (technological, policy-based and other services) to wide variety of industry partners ranging from top tier Indian corporates such as Mahindra & Mahindra to MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) who disseminate TERI’s technologies for the benefit of their local regions. Some of the key activities I work on currently are: •Enabling corporate participation in climate action in order to achieve inclusive growth and emissions reduction in line with India’s NDCs under the Paris Agreement •Working with stakeholders (Government and non-state actors such as corporates, private entities and NGOs) to address waste management Driving uptake of TERI’s renewable energy solutions with the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Sector •Strategizing, developing and pitching collaborations to corporates with TERI through the TERI Council for Business Sustainability •Engaging with TERI CBS member companies via various platforms such as the Chief Sustainability Officers Forums (CSO Forum), India Sustainability Leadership Summit etc. •Engaging with CBS member companies on various sustainability issues to identify potential projects (both technical and policy/research based) that TERI can execute •Providing services to Indian corporates in the areas of Sustainability Strategy, Roadmap Development, Policy Advocacy, Training and Capacity Building and Performance Benchmarking and Improvement •Assisting corporates to align their CSR and sustainability strategies with SDGs •Sustainability reporting for companies in compliance with GRI standards •Planning and organizing stakeholder meetings and technology demonstration events, involving Government agencies, financial institutions, NGOs and Corporates. •Developing and sourcing regular content such as Thought Leadership Webinars, blogs, for the Council for Business Sustainability •Curating TERI CBS’ bi-monthly newsletter ‘A World Abuzz with Sustainability’ which shares current trends and news in the sustainability sphere with corporates and serves as a vehicle to promote TERI’s publications, reports and events. •Developing TERI CBS’ video series ‘Future Unfolded’ for TERI’s website and YouTube. The 'Future Unfolded' series addresses a variety of critical issues – ranging from low-carbon pathways to circular economy – within the sphere of sustainable development. It showcases ideas, insights and essential commentary from some of the premier thought leaders, academics and industry champions of today.
