Bio

When she was just 14 years old, Shazel Muhammad joined a school club that tapped into her passion for storytelling. Discovering a love of connecting with others through the power of words at an early age, she found herself immersed in public speaking at the age of 14, and began traveling the U.S. as a corporate skills facilitator at the age of 19. Shazel is a visionary and spent over 25 years as a “corporate-America insider” successfully coaching, and training individual and team effectiveness methodologies across corporate America, nonprofits, and to youth, by focusing on behavior change. Shazel is the founder & ceo of Eunoia Global. Eunoia Global means “goodwill around the world” and they are a small business dedicated to big change. Eunoia Global is committed to impacting 1 million lives around the globe through their programs, workshops, and community outreach. They envision the world transformed for the greater good - one individual, one family, one company, one community at a time. Shazel’s life mission is to connect with the people that God puts on her path, and with them, cultivate the best in humanity by first cultivating the best in ourselves. Shazel believes that self-cultivated individuals nurture stronger families and more resilient communities that collaborate, innovate and resolve conflict. These communities become and shape the excellence that is our humanity. Her signature approach is coined Bridging the Moti-bility gap – the gap between an individual’s motivation (potential) and their actual ability (skills). As an expert in identifying, analyzing, and leveraging the way people think, behave and engage their world, Shazel leads her team to focus on outcomes, transform mindsets, and provide new skills that enable new behaviors, and sustainable habits. Her work with Global Peace Foundation helped communities build resilience and connected diverse populations across NJ. The workshop she facilitated at Montclair State University was filmed and became the “training of record” in reporting the efficacy of the foundation’s multi-million dollar Peace Building initiative. Shazel is passionate about working with youth who are “at risk” like she was, to help them acquire the mindset, skillset and habitset that will get them from where they are now to where they want to be. Teaching practical skills of leadership and influence, she led 3-day training workshops to over 1,000 high-school freshman in NJ schools to increase student’s self-awareness, resilience, and capacity for service. She is currently training teachers on inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance while helping high-school students in NJ launch an Inclusivity Club. Shazel’s legacy work is the African Link Initiative (ALI). ALI is an evidence-based identity development program for youth of African descent. ALI’s three-part program supports youth identity development by helping them explore three questions that are critical to identity formation: Where do I come from? Where am I now? Where can I grow from here? ALI culminates in a birthright trip to Ghana and aims to achieve a paradigm shift in identity that transforms how youth of African descent see and experience their world by first transforming how they see and experience themselves. Shazel is dedicated to operationalizing the proven and promising links between culturally-responsive pedagogy and improved life outcomes for youth. ALI’s noteworthy programmatic and curriculum partners include African Ancestry, Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County, Anthony Browder’s Cultural Imperative Program, Vital Smarts, and Global Connections Foundation. ALI will launch in January 2021. Through her leadership, Eunoia Global proactively serves the international community by providing college scholarships, training, and coaching to empower youth and adults around the globe. Some of her nonprofit partners include Girls on the Run, Pass It Along, and Global Connections Foundation. Through these partnerships, Shazel: helps girls find their “star power,” facilitates social-emotional learning workshops in high-schools, and mentors college students in Kenya. Shazel serves as Debate Judge with the DC Urban Debate League, and did also for The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation’s Great Communicator Debate Series. Shazel served as a team partner for K.I.N.D. (Kids in Need of Defense) to protect unaccompanied children who enter the U.S. immigration system alone. Shazel is a popular keynote speaker and was featured on BBC News, where she highlighted how Africans in the Diaspora can connect to contribute to Africa’s development. www.EunoiaGlobal.com * www.AfricanLink.org * www.linkedin.com/in/shazelmuhammad * @AfricanLinkInitiative

I'm passionate about

...helping people to see "old" problems in "new" ways, enabling them to write new scripts for their lives and see a new set of possibilities for themselves and others. The goal of my work is to help as many people as possible to lead lives that reflect their essential truths and the spirit of the human condition – connectedness. I am so grateful to be answering my highest calling and encouraging others to do the same.
