Participants at Connect & Act (Amsterdam October 2011) call this Rebecca’s Question: “What do you need?”
Let’s see how quickly we can make what you need happen.
I'm passionate about
inspiration, community, connections, media, good conversation, maximum impact, living globally, education, justice & a world that works for everyone. Also: spas, wine, beaches. Living well.
An idea worth spreading
I deal in Dreams Come True. In lifestyle design. In a world that works for everyone. We're moving from an age of powerful institutions to an age of networked individuals & need new structures and processes. I find the most remarkable young changemakers I can and ask, "What do you need?" Esra'a Al Shafei needed a source of income to continue her work with mideastyouth.com. Done. Maggie Doyne needed a vehicle to haul food and water so she could feed hundreds of kids in Nepal every day. Done. TEDSter Jeroen Hermkens dreamed of creating an event that brought changemakers to the Netherlands. Done. What's your dream? What do you need? I dream of all of us connected, amplifying our impact, working together.

The TED story
Here's what I learned from my first TEDx talk: This is NOT the time or place to ask, “What do you need?” and then fill the gaps in the program. That’s what I did. Not the best application of "Rebecca's Question" (see above).
Next time I’ll tell a truth so meaningful to me it will be simple, beautiful and easier to remember – for me & the audience! Am so looking forward to it.
