Bio
Vanessa heads Global Venturing for Citi and is responsible for leading strategic investments that are critical for Citi's future growth. Her team focuses on early stage investments in the areas of security and enterprise IT, commerce and payments, data and analytics, and financial technologies. Previously she ran Marketing for the North American Consumer Bank.
Vanessa joined Citibank from USVP, where she was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Prior to USVP, Vanessa was SVP of Insights at Yahoo!, responsible for developing and executing the company's consumer data strategy. She was previously a Partner at McKinsey & Co. and a charter corps member of Teach for America.
Vanessa published a book on agent-based modeling and taught courses at SFI. She received a Ph.D. from the M.I.T. Media Lab.
