Bio
I am a member of TED’s Publishing and Social team working on digital content strategy, social media programming and digital community growth for TED. I love connecting with TED's digital audience all around the world and uplifting all of the amazing work of our global speaker community. Ask me about our award-winning TikTok channel, @TEDToks!
Outside of TED, I am a writer, poet and photographer. My work has appeared in literary magazines and digital publications and I am the author of ‘I Always Got a Great Story: On Nostalgia and Hope in “How I Met Your Mother,”‘ (Thought Catalog, 2014). I'm currently working on a collection of poetry — some of which you can read on my Substack: "The Love Light and the Notes App."
I am a graduate of Boston University (BA) and New York University (MA) in archaeology and religious studies with a focus on anthropological religious systems, identity and post-9/11 in the South Asian religious diaspora in the United States. I have completed additional academic research in the fields of sociology, art history, American studies, political science and digital communications with an emphasis on web strategies and social networking theory.
I'm passionate about
Spreading big ideas to new audiences, building inclusive and enriching digital communities, poetry and words, socio-cultural formation of the social media user and community experience and emerging technologies.
An idea worth spreading
All of my work has — and will continue to be — about how people connect with each other. Whether it's on the internet, in the metaverse or in person. I'm wildly interested about who we are to each other and how we create space together. That's the intersection of where my academic research, art, and digital media work collide.
The TED story
I joined TED in March of 2020 right as the COVID-19 pandemic began. My journey with TED is tied to the way the world has changed in alignment with that event, and it is — and continues to be — my privilege to bring world changing ideas to global audiences as they move through these unprecedented times.
