Rod is an AI researcher, serial entrepreneur, and angel investor. He is driven by a desire to build wondrous things that inspire and drive change. Fascinated by computers from a young age, he taught himself to code when he was 8 years old, founded his first tech startup at 15, and when he was 22 he became the youngest executive of a $4.2 billion/year company. He has since built online services used by millions, developed novel methods for forecasting the output of non-stationary systems, pushed the limits of distributed real-time simulations, and designed one of the world's first 7nm cryptographic hardware accelerators. Currently, he is working on a neuro-symbolic approach to computer vision that will give machines richer internal representations similar to those in humans. As a thought leader, he has provided expert advice to several leading institutions, including Intel Corporation, the XPRIZE Foundation, and the US Military.
