Bio

I am a seasoned Human Resources leader specializing in HR operations, compliance, employee wellness, and strategic workforce planning. As the Director of Human Resources at Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools, I have led transformational initiatives in benefits strategy, performance management, workforce transitions, and organizational development. With over a decade of experience across education, healthcare, e-commerce, and technology sectors, I am passionate about creating equitable workplaces and mentoring future leaders, particularly women and leaders of color.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about creating workplaces where people feel genuinely valued, supported, and empowered to grow — not just professionally, but as whole individuals. I believe HR is more than policies and procedures; it’s a foundation for equity, leadership development, and real organizational change. I care deeply about making sure women and leaders of color have pathways to leadership, and I’m driven by the idea that with the right systems and support, every organization can unlock the true potential of its people. Helping others feel seen, building fair and transparent processes, and mentoring the next generation of leaders is what fuels me every day.

An idea worth spreading

Equity in leadership starts with reimagining how we build, support, and empower our people — especially those historically overlooked. By transforming HR from a system of policies into a platform for human potential, we can create workplaces where everyone has a real seat at the table — and the tools to lead from it.

The TED story

I’ve spent my career in Human Resources, but what I’m really passionate about is building workplaces where people are truly seen, valued, and given real opportunities to lead. Growing up and even early in my career, I experienced what it felt like to be overlooked, underestimated, and left out of conversations that shaped opportunities. I realized quickly that so much of success isn’t just about talent — it’s about whether the system was built to let you in. That realization fueled my drive to lead differently. Through my work across education, healthcare, e-commerce, and technology, I committed myself to making HR a platform for equity, advocacy, and real leadership development — not just a department of policies and rules. My story is about transforming the parts of leadership that people rarely see — the policies, the benefits, the difficult conversations — into powerful tools for real change. I believe that every system we build either opens doors or quietly closes them, and it’s our responsibility to make sure we are opening more than we close. For me, it’s not enough to just have a seat at the table — I want to help create tables where everyone has the tools, the voice, and the opportunity to lead. When we build workplaces that prioritize people over process, we don’t just change organizations — we change lives and communities for the better.

Things you might not know

Something people don’t always realize about me is that I’m really good at navigating tough conversations with both empathy and strategy. Whether it’s managing sensitive employee relations issues, leading through organizational change, or supporting people through difficult transitions, I have a natural ability to stay calm, listen deeply, and guide situations toward thoughtful, solutions-driven outcomes. It’s a strength that often happens behind the scenes, but it’s a core part of how I lead and build trust with the people around me.
